A Better Way in the Middle East
In this piece for The American Prospect, QI Executive Vice President Trita Parsi explores the two models for diplomacy in the Middle East that have emerged in recent years. One is represented by the fledgling Iraqi effort to promote inclusive regional diplomacy. The other is manifested in the Abraham Accords. Trita argues that the latter model cements conflict and ties the U.S. down in the region, while the former carries the possibility of an inclusive security architecture which could allow the U.S. to extricate itself from the region.
