Amin Mohseni-Cheraghlou is a non-resident fellow at the Quincy Institute, a macroeconomist with the GeoEconomics Center, and a senior lecturer in the Department of Economics at American University in Washington, D.C. From 2007–20 he was a research economist and consultant at the World Bank,  where he was part of the core team that worked on several rounds and updates of the Bank Regulation and Supervision Survey and the Global Financial Development Report; he also led development of the Global Financial Development Database. Amin’s areas of expertise are development macroeconomics, energy economics, international financial relations, and trade relations with a focus on the U.S., China, and the MENA region. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, an M.A. in International Development, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
