Zhengyu “Z” Huang is the chairman of Yu Capital, an education-focused investment firm. Yu Capital works with the largest Montessori operators in the United States. He has spent his professional career working in both the United States and China, giving him a unique perspective on the globalization of business, finance, and technology.
Prior to founding Yu Capital, Huang served as president of the Committee of 100 (C100)—a nonprofit organization of prominent Chinese Americans—from 2021 to 2024. C100 focused on advancing Chinese American inclusion in the United States and promoting a more productive U.S.–China relationship.
Huang previously worked at Intel Corporation as a managing director and later served under President Obama as a White House Fellow and special assistant to the Administrator for USAID.
He graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, a B.A. in Economics, and an M.S. in Computer Science. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and is currently pursuing a PhD at New York University, focusing on Generative AI in Education.
He is the author of five books—four published in China and one, Rethinking China, published in the United States in 2026.
Huang has lived in five countries and traveled to more than ninety. He remains an avid (if mediocre) enthusiast of fifteen sports.
