With Its New Class, QI’s Non-Resident Fellow Program Tops 50

WASHINGTON, DC — The Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft (QI) today welcomed nine accomplished advocates and scholars to its roster of non-resident fellows. QI’s non-resident fellows program connects a diverse array of restraint-oriented thinkers who help bring the best in outside-the-beltway thinking into the DC foreign policy conversation.

“We are ecstatic to welcome this group of scholars to the QI team, a talented assortment of thinkers who are each uniquely dedicated to a U.S. foreign policy of Restraint and to building a more peaceful world,” QI executive vice president Trita Parsi said. “This group offers an impressive breadth of regional and thematic expertise, exactly what our non-resident program needs as the world is moving rapidly towards multipolarity.”

Hailing from communities around the United States and around the world, the fellows — Pavel Devyatkin (The Arctic Institute), Jamie Galbraith (University of Texas at Austin), Naman Karl-Thomas Habtom (independent researcher), Jorge Heine (former professor, Boston University), Hadi Kahalzadeh (Brandeis University), Ian Lustick (University of Pennsylvania), Laura Mahrenbach (Technical University of Munich), Ian Proud (Diplomatic Excellence Ltd.), and Daniel Steinmetz-Jenkins (Wesleyan University) — will help carry QI’s message to audiences far from Washington.

These individuals are leaders in their respective fields of work and study, bringing years of experience in international diplomacy and academia. Their contributions will broaden and deepen the impact of the Quincy Institute’s work across all aspects of U.S. foreign policy.

Since its founding in 2019, QI has brought together its non-resident fellows from around the country and the world to build a restraint-based network and given each a platform in Washington. With these latest additions, the program now includes 50 fellows.
