Stacie E. Goddard is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Quincy Institute and Professor of Political Science and Director of the Madeleine K. Albright Institute at Wellesley College. Professor Goddard’s work engages with issues of legitimacy and how they affect power politics. She is the author of When Right Makes Might: Rising Powers and World Order (2018) and Indivisible Territory and the Politics of Legitimacy: Jerusalem and Northern Ireland (2010). Her articles have appeared in International Organization, International Security, International Studies Quarterly, International Theory, and Security Studies. Other writing has appeared in Foreign Policy, The Washington Post, and The New York Times.
She has been a fellow with the American Council of Learned Societies, at the John M. Olin Institute of Strategic Studies at Harvard University, the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University, and the Center for International Studies at Princeton University. She is a co-editor of Columbia University Press’s new series, Studies in International Order and Politics.
